For those who lament the loss of the Byrd's music, this album is sure to please. McGuinn is as vibrant and contemporary a musician as he was back in the 60s. Nevertheless, this small complaint is not to be overshadowed by the high quality of the performances and the songwriting/arranging on this album. Others like Parade of Lost Dreams seem a bit muffled. Some songs like If I Needed Someone shine bright. The sonic quality of Limited Edition is a bit uneven. This is a wonderful life journeying song that could have been an outtake from a Byrd's recording session, a la My Back Pages.Īnd may God hold you in the palm of His hand.
May the Road Rise to Meet You is another reason to buy this album for this song alone. All the lyrics, except the chorus, were actually heard over the air.
